Presentation of Institute for energy technology with focus on nuclear instrumentation capabilities
Abstract:
Since 1948, we have been a frontrunner in international energy research. We have contributed to the development of ground-breaking cancer medicine, new solutions in renewable energy, more energy-efficient industrial processes, zero-emission transport solutions, and future-oriented energy systems. At IFE, we build bridges between research, education, and industry. We have extensive infrastructure and full-scale laboratories where theoretical models are transformed into commercial activities.
WIEW department has for more than 40 years provided the Norwegian industry with EB-welding services. We are equipped with highly advanced workshop facilities run by excellent, multi-disciplinary, highly skilled and experienced staff.
SensorLab group is the continuation of a strong legacy from the time it was known as the Instrument Workshop in connection with the Halden Boiling Water Reactor (HBWR). This reactor was permanently shut down until June 2018. All of this gives SensorLab a great advantage working with design, development, and production of custom measurement rigs and equipment for nuclear research applications.
Bio:
Mikolaj Kunc is department head at WIEW (Welding Instruments Engineering Workshop). He worked with development of data acquisition systems for various research projects around JEEPII reactor at Kjeller. Has system development/IT background.
Per-Morten Harlem is subject group leader at SensorLab. He is involved in design and production of nuclear instrumentation at IFE. He also handles customer contact, requirement specifications, and design. Has precision mechanical workshop background.
