MISSIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

 
ISC’s missions are to provide the CoE NOMATEN with strategic research recommendations and scientific evaluations.
Its task includes, in particular,
  • Advising on the direction of NOMATEN's research activities, aimed at providing a position of internationally recognized centre of scientific excellence;
  • Execution of the open competition for the NOMATEN Director and recommendation of the candidate for this post to FNP setting rules and conducting international competitions for leaders of NOMATEN research groups;
  • Giving opinions on candidates for visiting scientists;
  • Giving opinions on the multi-annual development plans of NOMATEN and suggesting changes in the content of the agreement;
  • Conducting periodic (scientific) evaluations of research group leaders and submitting proposals for extending or not renewing their involvement in NOMATEN;
  • Expressing, on its own initiative or at the request of another NOMATEN body, opinions on all matters relating to NOMATEN, including:
    • annual plan of tasks,
    • rules for evaluating the performance of Tasks entrusted by NOMATEN and persons involved in the performance of tasks entrusted by the Committee,
    • the scientific quality of the activities carried out by NOMATEN,
    • the scientific quality of the NOMATEN research groups.

The project is co-financed from the state budget within the framework of the undertaking of the Minister of Science and Higher Education "Support for the activities of Centers of Excellence established under Horizon 2020".

The purpose of the undertaking is to support entities of the higher education and science system that have received funding from the European Union budget in the competition H2020-WIDESPREAD-2018-2020/WIDESPREAD-01-2018-2019: Teaming Phase 2. in the preparation, implementation and updating of activities, maintenance of material resources necessary for carrying out activities, acquisition and modernization of scientific and research apparatus, maintenance and development of personnel potential necessary for the implementation of activities, and dissemination of the results of scientific activities.
