Centre of Excellence NOMATEN created in NCBJ in Świerk, Poland will receive 15 million euro of support from the European Union. The project became the beneficiary of the Teaming EU competition. The NOMATEN CoE was created in 2018 as a result of an agreement between NCBJ and the Foundation for Polish Science. The National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) in Poland offers job positions in the framework of the NOMATEN Centre of Excellence formed through a partnership between NCBJ, CEA (France) and VTT (Finland). NOMATEN will focus on the studies and development of novel materials, specifically those designed to work under harsh conditions – radiation, high temperatures and corrosive environments.

On December 12, 2017 the contract to build the facility of Centre for Design and Synthesis of Molecularly Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals (CERAD) has been signed.

Novel radiopharmaceutical materials for medical applications belong to one of the strategic research and innovation topics of a long-term science and innovation strategy of NOMATEN Centre of Excellence. In the future, the NOMATEN CoE will benefit from collaboration with the CERAD project, the objective of which is to develop a modern infrastructure dedicated to research on new diagnostic/therapy radiopharmaceuticals based on ligands biologically active on the cell/molecular level.
