The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens a competition for the position of

Professor of the Institute

at MAB NOMATEN

Localization:Otwock / Świerk  (Company transport from Warsaw, Otwock, Garwolin  to Świerk and backwards).

Scientific discipline: physics

The candidate is expected to:

  • having the title of dr. hab in the field of physical sciences;
  • significant scientific achievements in the field of emulating the behaviour and performance of materials in mechanical loading applications, through the use of multiscale material simulations, machine learning methods and material characterization techniques;
  • extensive knowledge and experience in methods: Ab-Initio Density Functional Theory (DFT), Molecular Dynamics (MD), Discrete Dislocation Dynamics (DDD), and Continuum phenomenological Plasticity and Damage (CPD) modeling.
  • experience in multiscale modeling, mechanical characterization, applied physics/math
  • good knowledge of English in speech and writing;
  • experience in managing research projects, managing human resources, teamwork skills;
  • experience in working in international research teams;
  • experience in obtaining external funds to finance research.

 

We offer:

  • Remuneration/month - 15 000 – 22 400 PLN per month (at current exchange rate 3 340 – 4999€ per month); the details in each case depend on qualifications and experience, and the compensation is composed of the base salary and seniority addition, project bonus). The purpose of the undertaking is to support entities of the higher education and science system that have received funding from the European Union budget in the competition H2020-WIDESPREAD-2018-2020/WIDESPREAD-01-2018-2019: Teaming Phase 2. in the preparation, implementation and updating of activities, maintenance of material resources necessary for carrying out activities, acquisition and modernization of scientific and research apparatus, maintenance and development of personnel potential necessary for the implementation of activities, and dissemination of the results of scientific activities.
