Visit to companies in Silesia

A company visit tour was organized on behalf of CoE NOMATEN to Polish companies
in the Silesia region. The visit aimed to gain industry contacts with companies potentially entering the Polish nuclear market.

The visit was realized jointly with the VTT CoE NOMATEN Team. The visit consisted of B2B meetings connected with the CoE NOMATEN research capabilities offering and a general presentation of the CoE. The visit aimed to identify the market of energy companies in terms of opportunities for material research and substantive and training support in the transformation and adaptation of Polish companies for the needs of the Polish Nuclear Power Programme.

Closer discussions have taken place in the Institute on Welding (IWE), with Jerzy Niagaj as the contact person – the aim was to find cooperation models between NOMATEN, VTT and the Welding Institute to improve IWE's capabilities in the nuclear energy business. Discussions have occurred, for example, on training in safety culture in the nuclear industry.

Valuable discussions were also realized with Altrad Babcock Company, which CoE NOMATEN started cooperating with after the visit. The details of cooperation with Altrad Babcock are mentioned in chapter 6 of the Deliverable. Meaningful discussions have also taken place on training in safety culture in the nuclear industry with the Polish Office of Technical Inspection (UDT Urząd Dozoru Technicznego) where CoE NOMATEN VTT and NCBJ offered training for Office Staff. These discussions resulted in the development a schedule and an implementation plan for nuclear safety training.

As a result of the above-described visit, contacts with companies were established. Altrad Babcock Europe and Elektrobudowa representatives visited the National Centre for Nuclear Research to familiarize themselves with its offer.
