Research specialist in in vitro assays

at NOMATEN Center of Excellence, 

National Nuclear Research Center (NCBJ),
Poland

 

NOMATEN Centre of Excellence (CoE) is formed through a scientific partnership between the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ-Poland), the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA-France) and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT-Finland) with joint financial support from the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the European Commission. It is currently composed of 5 Research Groups and is directed by Mikko Alava. NOMATEN CoE focuses research on the development and assessment of innovative multifunctional materials for industrial and medical applications, and linked to the latter, is currently growing the “Radiopharmaceuticals” group.

Research studies will be done in close collaboration with the research team of Radioisotope Centre POLATOM at NCBJ, a worldwide known manufacturer of radiopharmaceuticals, as well as with prominent scientists in the field of radiopharmaceutical sciences from CEA/JOLIOT partners in France.

Location: 

National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ), ul. Andrzeja Sołtana 7, 05-400 Otwock, Poland
(Suburb of Warsaw, efficient and free daily bus transport service provided). 

Job/tasks description: 

  • planning, carrying out and supervising research conducted in the in vitro laboratory (culturing eukaryotic cells),

  • preparation and development of instructions, research and technical procedures,

  • preparation of reports in accordance with the principles contained in the procedures and instructions,

  • keeping documentation of supervision over devices and equipment for cell culture,

  • participation in research and development works, in particular in the field of developing new radiopharmaceuticals.

Requirements:

  • completed university studies in biological or related sciences: biochemistry, biomedicine, toxicology, pharmacology, pharmacy, molecular biology, biotechnology,

  • at least 3 years of experience in independent research in the field of cell culture,

  • knowledge of cell culture methods,

  • knowledge of cell line testing techniques, including: genotoxicity analyzes, cytotoxicity analyzes, knowledge of enzyme immunoassays,

  • knowledge of methods of statistical analysis of experimental data and interpretation of research results,

  • ability to use scientific and technical literature, databases,

  • very good English (spoken and written) communication,

  • good knowledge of MS Office,

  • ability to work in a team

  • willingness to participate in domestic and foreign trainings and conferences,

  • independence, diligence, accuracy and commitment.

Welcome:

  • knowledge of GMP and ISO quality systems,

  • possession of certificates of training in the field of radiation protection,

  • practical knowledge of molecular biology techniques (PCR, electrophoresis, Western Blot).
