Visit to companies in Pomerania

Technical visit of CoE NOMATEN to companies from the Pomerania region implementing projects and solutions for the nuclear power sector

The CoE NOMATEN team (NCBJ + VTT) on March 13-15, 2024 visited companies in the Gdańsk Pomerania region that implement numerous energy projects, including nuclear energy, solutions in the field of renewable energy sources and a sustainable energy system in the country and in Europe. Another on-site visit of CoE NOMATEN directly to production plants was aimed at presenting the research and design capabilities of the NOMATEN Center and encouraging companies to implement joint research and implementation projects in the field of energy solutions and material technologies.

One of the goals of the visit was also to identify key areas in companies in which the NOMATEN CoE Team could provide technological consulting and training in the field of nuclear safety, implementation of management systems in companies based on the ISO 19443 standard and qualification of elements and manufactured subassemblies for applications in nuclear technologies. The visit was also aimed at obtaining new industry contacts with companies potentially entering the Polish nuclear market in terms of the possibility of material, research, substantive and training support in the field of transformation and adaptation of Polish enterprises for the needs of the Polish Nuclear Energy Program. As a result of the visit, contacts with companies were established.

Representatives of Energomontaż – Północ Gdynia S.A., Rockfin Sp. z o. o., Metal-Expert Sp. z o. o. and GE Vernova and Governmental Unit Office of The Marshal of The Pomorskie Voivodship were invited to visit the CoE NOMATEN Laboratories at the National Center for Nuclear Research. During the meetings at NCBJ, the subject of project applications is also planned to be defined with companies that want to obtain EU funds and develop their research and development work based on the NOMATEN CoE laboratories and technological consulting.

The purpose of the undertaking is to support entities of the higher education and science system that have received funding from the European Union budget in the competition H2020-WIDESPREAD-2018-2020/WIDESPREAD-01-2018-2019: Teaming Phase 2. in the preparation, implementation and updating of activities, maintenance of material resources necessary for carrying out activities, acquisition and modernization of scientific and research apparatus, maintenance and development of personnel potential necessary for the implementation of activities, and dissemination of the results of scientific activities.
