On 19.02.2025, the NOMATEN Centre of Excellence Industry Liaison Group Memebers, together with Scientific Teams from the Faculty of Non-ferrous Metals of the AGH University in Cracow, Institute of Fundamental Technological Research PAS (IPPT PAN) and the Technical University in Częstochowa hosted in Bydgoszcz the headquarters of Telefonika Kable S. A., a global market leader in the design and manufacture of medium-, high- and extra-high-voltage cables and cable systems for the most important sectors of the economy, including construction, energy (RES Wind, nuclear power), or transport (rail, automotive).

The technical visit discussed opportunities for cooperation in cable and wire research for the nuclear power industry, as well as materials research and solutions for improving the durability of tools and technological instrumentation used in the production of wires and cables. The CoE NOMATEN ILG visited the plant's production halls, as well as laboratories dedicated to wire testing, including the state-of-the-art High Voltage Cable and Wire Testing Laboratory accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) following PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02.

We look forward to further developing our collaboration with Telefonika Kable S.A.

The purpose of the undertaking is to support entities of the higher education and science system that have received funding from the European Union budget in the competition H2020-WIDESPREAD-2018-2020/WIDESPREAD-01-2018-2019: Teaming Phase 2. in the preparation, implementation and updating of activities, maintenance of material resources necessary for carrying out activities, acquisition and modernization of scientific and research apparatus, maintenance and development of personnel potential necessary for the implementation of activities, and dissemination of the results of scientific activities.
