CoE NOMATEN 2024 started with a workshop with industrial companies, where the Centre's competencies and research capabilities were discussed and the research infrastructure at NOMATEN was presented. One of the objectives of the meeting was also to discuss the possibility of cooperation with companies in the modernisation of the MARIA research reactor at the NCBJ and conducting joint research and projects for the development of the energy sector in Poland.

The workshop was attended by about 30 companies from the energy sector and the sector of design and construction of energy installations and their research, including Zaklady Automatyki Polna, PRE Edward Biel, ROCFIN, "Energopomiar" Sp. z o.o, Elmontaż Sp. z o. o., Energotherm Group, ZPAS, PROZAP Sp. z o.o., ELEKTROTIM S.A., Last Energy, EST Energy, ZPUE S.A., Energotechnika-Energorozruch S.A., Budimex, ZTW Explomet, @KMW Engineering sp. z o.o., Torpol Oil & Gas Sp. z o.o.

Participation in the modernisation of the MARIA reactor is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of the work carried out in nuclear reactors, especially related to electrical power, control and protection, ventilation and dosimetry systems.

In addition to the workshops, our guests visited laboratories where we conduct radiation research and research on materials used in conventional and nuclear power. These materials are/are designed to withstand extreme operating conditions: high temperature, corrosion, radiation.

We would like to thank the NCBJ Science and Technology Park and the Ministry of Climate and Environment for their participation and assistance in organising the event.
