Graduate School of Physics and Chemistry 2020
The Graduate School of Physics and Chemistry was established in 2019. Its goal is to leverage the expert knowledge of both institutions and take advantage of the resulting synergies to provide a coherent offer for individuals wishing to pursue a doctoral degree.

Part of the NOMATEN team visited MARIA nuclear research reactor at the National Centre for Nuclear Research on August 4th.
Our new caulleges from Mikko Alava's research group, Amin Esfandiarpour PhD and Javier Dominguez PhD just joined NOMATEN and had the occasion to check the only nuclear research reactor in Poland.
CEA: A preclinical study shows that hydroxychloroquine has no antiviral effect on SARS-CoV-2 in vivo
A study on the effects of hydroxychloroquine in macaques infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, used alone or in combination with azithromycin, have been published on Nature, July 22th. Scientists from the CEA, CNRS, Inserm, Institut Pasteur, Université de Paris-Saclay, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Aix-Marseille Université have been involved in the study, which has been carried out under the aegis of the multidisciplinary consortium, REACTing.

Renata Mikołajczak became the chairwoman of the working group of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission
Ms. Renata Mikołajczak is a professor at the NCBJ, representative of the Director for Scientific Affairs and National and International Cooperation at the POLATOM Radioisotope Center. Since the beginning she has been involved in NOMATEN as a member of the Intenrational Scientific Committee. At the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, she will lead a working group on the development of monographs on radiopharmaceutical precursors (Precursors for Radiopharmaceutical Preparations – PRP Working Party).
NOMATEN’s seminars deploy the idea of science dissemination
In 2020 NOMATEN launched the new area of activity: a series of open scientific seminars devoted to the topics related to materials’ challenges and research. Moreover, the goal has been not only to share the expertise but also to build a community of researchers across the science areas. NOMATEN hosted the seminar while inviting external scientists to act as speakers.

Javier Francisco Dominguez Gutierrez from from Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics gave a lecture on the topic Classification and quantification of material defects in damaged crystalline solids by machine learned based MD simulations and a novel fingerprinting and visualization tool at the National Centre for Nuclear Research.
