NOMATEN Industry Advisory Board
Mission and Scope
The NOMATEN Industry Advisory Board is a strategic advisory body composed primarily of senior representatives from industry, technology companies, innovation organizations, investors, and business development experts. Its purpose is to strengthen the connection between the NOMATEN Centre of Excellence and the industrial ecosystem by supporting the translation of scientific excellence into industrial innovation, commercial opportunities, and societal impact.
The Board provides independent strategic advice on industrial collaboration, technology transfer, market-oriented research, innovation management, and business development. It serves as a platform for continuous dialogue between NOMATEN and industrial stakeholders, ensuring that the Centre's research activities remain aligned with current and future industrial needs.
Industry Advisory Board Members

Jakub Jedliński
His professional career focuses on the commercialisation of innovation, establishing partnerships, developing business models and implementing changes across value chains. He specialises in combining technologies from various fields to create new solutions, such as the application of artificial intelligence in traditional construction processes. He holds an Executive Doctor of Business Administration from the Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences (INE PAN) and is a long-standing chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the UK. Among other things, he teaches marketing on the ESG MBA programme and regularly trains entrepreneurs on accelerator programmes.

Marcin Orzechowski
Marcin Orzechowski is CEO and Head of R&D at BIMO TECH, a company specialising in advanced metallic materials, precision components and technologies for the aerospace, energy and Big Science sectors. A graduate of Wrocław University of Technology, he has been developing BIMO TECH’s operations in European markets for over a decade, combining business expertise with experience in materials engineering. He leads research and development projects concerning, among other things, high-entropy alloys (HEA and RHEA), additive technologies and materials designed for use in extreme conditions. Under his leadership, BIMO TECH carries out projects for the space sector, nuclear fusion and advanced industry, collaborating with scientific and industrial partners across Europe. He is an active promoter of the development of European materials technologies and innovations supporting Europe’s strategic industrial independence.

Renata Jurkowska
Renata Jurkowska – Lead HVAC/Mechanical Engineer. ISO 19443 Internal Auditor. She is responsible for the PALLAS Project – Water Systems (Detail Design), managing the work of engineers and assistants and planning schedules. She develops conceptual, structural and detailed designs for sanitary installations using specialist engineering software. She conducts inter-disciplinary consultations and coordinates within the BIM environment. Verification of technical documentation. Unrestricted building design qualifications in the field of installations, covering heating, ventilation, gas, water supply and drainage networks, systems and equipment (MAP/0476/POOS/14), and approximately 20 years’ experience in the industry.

Maciej Szlichting
Dr Maciej Szlichting is an expert in friction materials, tribology, and automotive braking systems, with over 21 years of industrial experience, including more than 18 years dedicated to friction materials. He obtained his PhD from the Lodz University of Technology, focusing on the physicochemical aspects of passenger car brake linings. Since 2013, he has been with TOMEX Brakes, where he leads the development of friction materials, manufacturing technologies, and R&D projects. He is the initiator of the High Tech Eco Performance project (FENG – SMART Path) and co-developer of HybriTech, an innovative hybrid brake pad manufacturing technology. His research focuses on the physicochemical and tribological behaviour of friction materials, with particular emphasis on wear, particulate emissions, noise reduction, and braking performance. He is a co-author of a patent on brake friction composites, author of scientific publications, and has led numerous industrial implementations of low-emission, copper-free friction materials. Dr Szlichting has collaborated with the Lodz University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, and BOSMAL, bridging fundamental materials science with industrial innovation.

Michał Żurek
Michał Żurek is an experienced business development and industrial projects executive with over two decades of experience in the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for developing strategic partnerships, managing key customer relationships, and supporting the delivery of complex engineering and investment projects.
Currently with ELEKTROBUDOWA Sp. z o.o. (ZARMEN Group), he focuses on business development and the implementation of advanced solutions for the power generation and industrial markets. His expertise covers project commercialization, strategic sales, and cooperation with industrial partners in the fields of conventional and nuclear energy, heavy industry, and critical infrastructure.

Daniel Szymonik
Daniel Szymonik serves as Innovation Coordinator in the Innovation Department at Budimex S.A., where, as an R&D project manager, he is responsible for assessing, developing, and commercialising innovative technologies in the infrastructure, industrial, and energy construction sectors.
Since 2024, he has been actively involved in preparing joint projects with Mostostal Kraków S.A. and the National Centre for Nuclear Research as part of preparatory work to develop a national supply chain for the nuclear energy sector.
He has over 20 years of professional experience in innovation, research and development project management, technology transfer, and securing funding for R&D projects. Previously, he worked at research institutes and scientific organisations, where he was responsible for preparing and implementing projects funded by national and European sources.

Grzegorz Cyborowski
Grzegorz Cyborowski is the Director of Nuclear Energy and the Management Board Representative for Nuclear Energy at Mostostal Kraków S.A. He has extensive experience in managing industrial projects and currently leads the team responsible for implementing the nuclear quality assurance program in accordance with the ASME NQA-1 standard, which is required for supplying components and services to Poland’s first AP1000 nuclear power plant.
His professional interests include the management of highly complex projects, the development of the domestic nuclear supply chain, and the implementation of advanced technical and organizational standards across the industrial sector.

Monika Wyszomirska
Monika Wyszomirska is a Materials Evaluation Specialist at BlueScope Steel Limited, where she supports innovation programmes through advanced materials characterisation, development of analytical methods, implementation of microscopy techniques, and evaluation of materials performance.
She also serves as a Stream Leader within a multidisciplinary project team, contributing her technical expertise and critical analysis skills to decision-making in technology development.
Dr Monika Wyszomirska is an active contributor to the Australian Research Council Steel Research Hub and collaborates with researchers from Australian universities and industry partners on projects related to advanced materials characterisation and product durability. In recognition of this collaboration, she was appointed an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong in 2023.
