NOMATEN Autumn School 2025

The NOMATEN Autumn School 2025 was held from September 29th  to October 2nd  2025 at the VTT Centre for Nuclear Safety (CNS) in Espoo, Finland, under the motto “Innovation through Collaboration: Where are we? – Where are we going?” The event, organized by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), and the NOMATEN Centre of Excellence at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ, Poland), brought together researchers, engineers, and young scientists to discuss progress and future directions within the framework of the EU-funded Teaming for Excellence project (Horizon 2020, Grant No. 857470).

NOMATEN Autumn School 2025

We are pleased to announce the NOMATEN Autumn School 2025, a four-day scientific event focused on advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration in the field of advanced materials.

Organized annually since 2021, the NOMATEN Autumn School brings together researchers from across Europe to share scientific results, methodological advances, and collaborative projects in a multidisciplinary environment. The 2025 edition marks the beginning of the second round of this event, with each of the core partner institutions – CEA (France), VTT (Finland), and NCBJ (Poland) – having already hosted once. We are excited to return to VTT in Espoo, Finland, a city known for its vibrant research ecosystem and natural beauty.

On 3.02.2025, NCBJ's NOMATEN Centre of Excellence hosted experts from Bechtel Poland, a leader in engineering and construction. The study visit discussed opportunities for collaboration in research, testing, certification and qualification of materials used in PWR technology.

NOMRad – NOMATEN International Radiopharmaceutical Conference

Dear Colleagues,  Friends, NOMATEN Centre of Excellence located at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) invites you to save the date and make plans to join us for the International Radiopharmaceutical Conference NOMRad which will be held June 25 - 27, 2024 at the NOVOTEL hotel located in the city center of Warsaw. NOMRad Conference is organized in the frame of project granted by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under Welcome to Poland programme, as well as the NOMATEN Teaming Coordination and Support action.
CoE NOMATEN Scientific Workshop on Materials for Energy and Aerospace Applications 2024-02-28
CoE NOMATEN continues to implement scientific workshops in the field of advanced materials. This time, together with Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, we will implement a workshop and meeting on research of materials used in the energy industry and aerospace sector at which we will discuss joint research, technological and infrastructural opportunities in this area. One of the goals of the meeting will also be to discuss joint R&D activities and projects for the development of the energy sector in Poland. CoE NOMATEN and NCBJ will present their research infrastructure, which will be used in cooperation between our Institutes.
NOMATEN Suppliers Day
CoE NOMATEN 2024 started with a workshop with industrial companies, where the Centre's competencies and research capabilities were discussed and the research infrastructure at NOMATEN was presented. One of the objectives of the meeting was also to discuss the possibility of cooperation with companies in the modernisation of the MARIA research reactor at the NCBJ and conducting joint research and projects for the development of the energy sector in Poland.

Participants to the 3rd NOMATEN School organised at NCBJ in Otwock-Świerk, Poland, November 27-30, 2023

The third international School of the NOMATEN CoE was held from November 27 to 30, 2023, and was dedicated to the multifunctionality of materials for industrial and medical applications with focuses on the following topics: synthesis of new materials, modeling of materials deformation and radiation damage build-up, materials characterization and advanced solutions in radiopharamceuticals and medical therapies. Organized by NCBJ with the support of CEA and VTT, this event focused on materials and compounds for industrial and healthcare applications, and brought together about 75 participants at NCBJ Research centre, Poland. As with previous editions, this school was structured around 4 sessions of presentations and exchanges with some new features, supplemented by visits to the NCBJ center's facilities.
